When Acne Strikes, Choose Aerolase

05-08-2018

Acne is the most common skin condition in the United States, affecting 50 million people annually. The permanent damage that can come from acne can dramatically affect one’s self-confidence. If you are someone haunted by acne or the scars left by its brutal attack, read on.

We are fortunate to live in a time where there are a variety of treatments available for acne. However, many of these treatments are highly irritating to the skin or require taking aggressive medication. For longtime acne sufferers who are tired of oral medications or are not getting the results they desire from other acne treatments, laser therapy may be the answer.

How Does the Aerolase Yag Laser Work?

The Aerolase Yag laser is a highly effective treatment for reducing or eliminating acne. It can be used on a variety of skin types and is safe for people of any age – including kids. It works by superheating the P. acnes bacteria (the bacteria that causes acne) to a level that destroys it while reducing the body’s oil and sebum output, which helps prevent future outbreaks. The only other product that suppresses sebum production is Accutane. The result is clearer, smoother skin.

How Does the Skin React to Aerolase?

Many treatments cause swelling and inflammation. However, the Aerolase Yag laser doesn’t. This is important for people who suffer from severe acne and experience significant irritation because of it.

How Many Aerolase Treatments are Needed?

Depending on the severity of acne, the number of treatments needed can vary. However, improvements can be noticed after a single treatment. Most people receive three to five Aerolase treatments.

How is Aerolase Different from Other Laser Therapies?

The unique technology used in Aerolase Yag has longer wavelengths than other lasers, which allows it to penetrate deeper. This enables it to reach the sebaceous glands in the dermis to destroy acne-causing bacteria efficiently. Aerolase also has a fast pulse width, which makes treatment more comfortable than other lasers. Finally, other laser treatments can be less hygienic and spread the bacteria to other parts of the dermis, creating future outbreaks in areas of the skin that were previously unaffected by acne. This is not the case with Aerolase.
